Betty  Hecker
Betty Elizabeth Hecker, 87, of 316 N. Hanna St., Lock Haven, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lock Haven.
She was born in Jersey Shore on November 25, 1930 the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Laubscher Aungst.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.
On July 27, 1952 she married Mahlon R. Hecker, whom survives.
Betty was employed by Keystone Central School District as an Audiovisual Technician for many years until her retirement in 1993.
She was a 70 year member of Covenant United Methodist Church of Lock Haven.
Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, canning and flower gardening. In her younger years, she looked forward to her annual camping trips to Canada with her husband. Most of all, Betty loved the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Joyce A. (Philip) Micklitsch of Jersey Shore and Linda K. (Jeffrey) Forster of McElhattan; a brother, Robert (Gale) Aungst of Lock Haven; a sister, Bonnie Knarr of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a special niece, Leslie Fetzer of Dunnstown; a special nephew who was like a son, David Aungst of Muncy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Richard Aungst, Ralph Aungst, Evelyn Shoemaker and Carol Webner.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 12 noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Susan Champion officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Mill Hall Presbyterian Church or Lakeshore United Methodist Church of Manitowoc, WI.
