Lois M. Jacobs (Emert)
Lois M. Jacobs, 97, of Castanea passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lock Haven.
Born on October 30, 1920 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Hazel Brown Emert.
She was a 1938 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
In 1941 she married the love of her life, Glenn A. Jacobs, with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing on December 26, 1995.
Lois was a member of the Castanea United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed making crafts and reading.
Lois was a longtime volunteer at the Lock Haven Hospital Gift Shop.
She cherished the time she spent with her family and was very proud of her children.
Surviving are four sons: Dr. Paul F. (Nancy) Jacobs of Starkville, Miss., Glenn R. (Shirley) Jacobs of Mill Hall, Dr. Stephen M. (Sharon) Jacobs of Williamsburg, Va., and William D. (Mary) Jacobs of Pennsburg; a daughter, Jean M. (Daniel) Hunter of Linden; two sisters, Jane Dershem and Phylis Humphrey, both of Duncannon; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 5 great, great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Castanea United Methodist Church, 23 E. Brown St., Castanea with Pastor James “Doug” Conway officiating. Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Monday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Lois’ name may be made to Faith United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
